Project
Sadly I missed the seminars this week owing to being ill health, well I attempted to go in but had to leave shortly after getting there…. what a way to spend a birthday.
While I was there Ken suggested I look up incompleteness theorem. I have yet to do this.
Although at first I decided the entire project was going to be about the visibility/invisibility of illness I have begun to rethink this and to instead make visible/invisible illness/disability a part of the project, rather than its primary focus. Instead I aim to reflect broadly the experience of Anxiety.
I am considering looking at the following areas of research:
reluctance of mean to deal with anxiety;
research some aspect of women and their feelings (or not) of attractiveness and male admissions of physical flaws: are they similar?
belief systems: different belief systems affect different parts of our being: look at how women were seen historically; possibly looking at the idea of hysteria; also look at moral frameworks that come from religion;
Look at how feminism has affected disability rights/studies (should be noted disability studies is a relatively new area and has only been studied in the UK since the 1990s)
