On Reflection

On Reflection is a series that uses photography and partial, or interrupted reflections to create a sense of loss and dislocation from the self.  The series is a work in progress that explores our relationship to ourselves and the world around us.   The way our experience of the object is mediated and interrupted by different screens (though not typical screens) is symbolic of the way illness causes barriers to experiencing the world, be that mental (e.g. agoraphobia)  or physical (as in the way a wheelchair mediates direct experience of the world).
