Diversity is all the rage, diversity is good

You can’t have too many women but it doesn’t mean you should —

Yes women are important, but what about the men

You cannot have too many women as that may oppress them

And what about the BAME folks?

We have quotas for that too

But we mustn’t have too many, so let’s only have a few

The readers of the Daily Mail will all be up in arms

So let’s stick with tokenism so that they will all stay calm

And what about disabled?

Silent Witness sometimes has two

But there’s over a billion worldwide?

Shh, we don’t know that that’s true

Besides, disability isn’t sexy, and sexy is what sells

So let’s use disabled stories but select A-listers to tell —

Then come awards season they’ll be up for gongs

And it’s hard to dress disabled shapes, the clothes always look wrong

So let’s not think about their talent, let’s not open the door

Let’s keep the machine ticking with tokens, nothing more
