Participant Recruitment: Teachers

INTERVIEW SUBJECTS WANTED FOR PhD REASEARCH:
I am seeking current and former (within the last 10 years) art teachers working in UK secondary state and independent schools with children and young people aged between 11 and 16 to participate in PhD research that examines what art education could look like in the future, both for home educated and children attending schools and how engaging in artistic activities can benefit young people both academically and in terms of wellbeing.
As part of this research I am speaking with a variety of people involved in art and education, including artists, curators, art educators and organisations working in extra curricular settings and art teachers within both UK state and independent schools.
I am currently recruiting teachers to speak with me completely confidentially (you will be pseudonymised and any information that could be used to identify you completely removed (e.g. names, location, school teaching in, etc) these will only be accessible by myself for research purposes and stored on an encrypted hard drive on a University of Southampton computer and will be deleted once I have completed my analysis).
The interview will be mostly informal and conversational in style and should take approximately 15 – 30 minutes, although this will vary depending on our conversation. It will take place over TEAMS using the University of Southampton account on a university laptop to ensure it is as secure as possible. The interview will be recorded and then transcribed and pseudonymised. After transcription the recording will be deleted and the transcription will be stored on an encrypted harddrive on a university computer until analysis is completed.
I am looking for ten participants from a state school and up to ten from an independent school. If you are interested in taking part or would like to speak further then please do so using email : b.a.davis-hofbauer [at] soton.ac.uk
Once you are happy to take part then I will take some details from you and send you a Participant Information Sheet detailing all about the study and a Consent Form. Your completed form is held on an encrypted hard drive on a university computer and backed up to the university’s encrypted server. You can withdraw consent at any time.
